Fake Dubai Visa? 5 Proven Warning Signs to Avoid Scams

Fake Dubai visa warning signs guide banner from dubaivisitvisaonline.com

On Monday, 12 October 2026, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi posted a clear warning. The Consulate General of India in Dubai joined it. Their message was simple: no agency can guarantee a visa, so never pay because someone promises approval. This guide shows how to spot a fake Dubai visa offer before you pay. It also shows how to check any UAE visa yourself for free.

The short answer is this. A real visa is issued by UAE authorities, not by an agent. You can confirm it on the official GDRFA Dubai or ICP websites in about two minutes.

What did the Indian missions say on 12 October?

The missions said they had received complaints about visa and migration agencies operating outside India, including in the UAE. These agencies advertise on social media. They take fees, but then they fail to deliver the service or return the money.

Here is the advice, as reported by Gulf News and Khaleej Times:

  • Do not rely only on social media adverts.
  • Check visa rules on the destination country's official websites.
  • Never pay money because someone promises approval.
  • Take care before you share personal documents with any middleman.

The warning focused on job and residence visas for other countries. However, the same tricks can target Dubai tourist visas too, so they are worth knowing before you book.

5 warning signs of a fake Dubai visa offer

None of these signs proves fraud by itself. But two or more together should make you stop and check.

1. "100% approval" or "guaranteed visa"

Approval is decided by UAE immigration, not by the person selling it. So any promise of certain approval is false. A refund policy if a visa is declined is different, because it does not promise the result.

2. Contact only through a social media page

Ask for a company name, a physical address and a trade licence. A real business in Dubai can tell you where its office is. If the "agent" only replies on chat apps and has no website, be careful.

3. Payment to a personal account

Be wary when someone wants money sent to a personal account, because that leaves you no protection. Instead, pay through a secure company payment page with a receipt in the company's name.

4. A job promised with a "visit visa"

A tourist visa is for tourism. It also does not give you the right to work. In fact, offers that mix a visit visa with a guaranteed job are a common trap.

5. A visa you cannot find on the official website

This is the clearest sign. If the file number on your e-visa returns nothing on GDRFA Dubai or ICP, do not travel on it. Contact the authority first.

Warning sign or normal practice?

Some honest steps can still look strange to a first-time traveller. This table separates the two.

How do you check that a Dubai visa is real?

First, look at your e-visa PDF. It shows a file number, your name and the issuing emirate. Then use the official checker that matches the emirate.

Visa issued in Dubai

Go to the GDRFA Dubai smart services site and open the application status enquiry. Then choose "file number", and enter your first name, nationality and date of birth. The result should then show your visa as issued.

Visa issued in another emirate

Use the ICP smart services file validity page. Select "visa", then search by file number or passport number with your date of birth. The page shows the status, issue date and expiry date.

Also check the small details. Your name must also match your passport letter by letter. The passport number must be correct too. A spelling mistake can cause trouble at the airport, so fix it before you fly.

Already applied with us? You can follow your application on our visa status check page, then confirm the final e-visa on the official site.

What has not changed for tourists?

As of 16 October 2026, the official pages show no new rule for tourist visas. The advisory is a fraud warning, not a policy change. So the usual conditions still apply.

The ICP visa issuance conditions list a passport valid for at least six months and a return ticket. They also require health insurance and entry within 60 days of the issue date. Rules for your passport are on our visa requirements by nationality page.

Fees vary by nationality and visa type. That is why we show them live on our Dubai visa fees page instead of quoting a number here.

Questions travellers ask us

Can an agent guarantee my Dubai visa?

No. Only UAE immigration decides, as the Indian missions stated on 12 October. An agent can check your documents carefully, but nobody can promise the outcome.

Is an e-visa as valid as a stamped visa?

Yes. UAE tourist visas are issued electronically, so the e-visa is the visa. Carry a printed copy, and also keep one on your phone.

What should I do if my visa does not show online?

Do not fly yet. First, re-enter the details exactly as on the e-visa, because a typing error is the usual cause. If it still fails, contact GDRFA Dubai or ICP before you travel.

A few minutes of checking protects your money and your trip. Before you pay anyone, test the offer against the five signs above, and verify every e-visa on the official site.
