Dubai Fitness Challenge Visa: 30 or 60 Days? Easy Guide
Dubai Fitness Challenge Visa: 30 or 60 Days? Easy Guide

Can a visitor cycle down Sheikh Zayed Road with no cars on it? Yes, and this year the chance comes on Sunday, 1 November. The Dubai Fitness Challenge returns for its 10th edition from Saturday, 31 October to Sunday, 29 November 2026. Flying in for it? Then your Dubai Fitness Challenge visa comes down to one choice: 30 or 60 days.
Here is the quick answer. One flagship event fits easily in a 30-day visa. For the whole month, however, a 60-day visa is the safer pick. It also covers UAE National Day on 2 December.
What is the Dubai Fitness Challenge?
It is a city-wide drive to do 30 minutes of activity every day, for 30 days in a row. The National reports that it invites both residents and visitors, with free events, classes and community sessions across the city.
Registration is free on the official challenge website, according to Emirates 24|7's guide to the 2026 edition. So the main cost for a visitor is the trip itself: flights, a place to stay and the visa.
The crowds are also large. For example, The National says Dubai Run drew a record 307,000 runners last year.
The big dates of the 2026 challenge
These are the flagship events confirmed so far. The dates come from The National's report on Dubai Run and Dubai Ride 2026 and Emirates 24|7.
| Event | Date | Where |
| Challenge opens | Saturday, 31 October | Across Dubai |
| Dubai Ride (4 km and 12 km) | Sunday, 1 November, 6am | Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown |
| Dubai Stand Up Paddle | Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November | Hatta Dam |
| Dubai Run (5 km and 10 km) | Sunday, 22 November, 6.30am | Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown |
| Dubai Yoga and the finale | Sunday, 29 November | Time and place to be confirmed |
Notice the gap. Dubai Ride and Dubai Run are three weeks apart. So that gap decides which visa you need.
Is a 30-day Dubai Fitness Challenge visa enough?
It depends on how many events you want, because each one adds days. Your permitted stay starts on the day you land, not the day the visa is issued. So plan around your arrival date, then check the exit date printed on your visa.

A 30-day visa: one event, or a tight double
Coming only for Dubai Run? Then a 30-day single-entry visa is usually enough. Land a few days early, collect your bib, run on 22 November and enjoy the city.
Both Ride and Run can also fit, because they are only three weeks apart. However, the timing is tight if you also want the finale on 29 November. In that case, count the days carefully before you book flights.
A 60-day visa: the whole month, plus National Day
Many visitors also stay on after the challenge ends. UAE National Day falls on Wednesday, 2 December, only three days after the finale. A 60-day visa covers the full challenge and the National Day weekend with room to spare.
It also helps if your flight changes. For instance, a delayed return will not push you close to your exit date.
Multiple entry: when you leave and come back
Some runners fly home between events, but others take a side trip to Oman. If you will leave the UAE and return, you need a multiple-entry visa. Otherwise, a single-entry visa ends the moment you exit.
What do the official rules say today?
We checked the ICP visa issuance conditions on 13 October 2026. ICP is the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security. Three points matter most for a sports trip.
- Passport validity. Your passport must be valid for at least six months. If it expires before June 2027, renew it before you apply.
- The 60-day entry window. An entry permit must be used within 60 days of issue. So a visa issued in late October still covers a 22 November arrival.
- Insurance and a return ticket. ICP lists valid health insurance and a return or onward ticket. Choose insurance that covers sports activity, because a fall on a bike is not rare.
You can read the full list on the ICP visa issuance conditions page. These rules can change, so check again if you apply much later.
Tips from our desk for visiting runners and riders
First, register for your event as soon as registration opens. Places and bib collection follow the organiser's rules, not your visa dates.
Plan to arrive at least two days before your event. Emirates 24|7 says bibs are collected at the fitness village in Zabeel Park. Also, both events start early in the morning, so a same-day landing is risky.
Next, keep a copy of your visa on your phone. In addition, save your hotel address in English and Arabic for taxi drivers on road-closure days.

Frequently asked questions
Can tourists take part in Dubai Run and Dubai Ride?
Yes. Both events are open to visitors as well as residents, according to The National and Emirates 24|7. You still need the right visa for your nationality, which you can check on our visa requirements page.
Is it too early to apply in October?
No. ICP gives you 60 days from issue to enter. So applying now for a November trip is fine, and it leaves time to fix any document problem.
What if I am already in Dubai and want to stay longer?
ICP says a visit visa can be extended, within an overall limit. Ask us before your current visa ends, because overstaying brings daily fines.
