MOTN Festival 2026: 2 Phases, Best Visa, Avoid Costly Gaps

MOTN Festival 2026 visa guide banner for Al Ain, Al Dhafra and the Abu Dhabi Corniche

Saturday 28 November 2026 is the opening day of the 10th MOTN Festival. This year it does not open in one place. It starts in Al Ain and Al Dhafra, then moves to the Abu Dhabi Corniche on Wednesday 9 December. So the visa you need depends on which phase you want to see.

Here is the short answer. One UAE tourist visa covers all three festival locations. A 30-day visa fits one phase, and a 60-day visa covers the whole run to 3 January. Below, we show which one fits your dates and when to apply.

We are Sky Palace Tourism L.L.C, an independent visa support office in Al Mankhool, Dubai. We are not part of the UAE government, but we help travellers apply for UAE visit visas every day.

What are the MOTN Festival 2026 dates and places?

The Mother of the Nation Festival is named after Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. It is organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, and this season's theme is "World of Wonder". The dates below come from Khaleej Times' report on the 2026 season, published on 14 October 2026.

PhaseDatesWhere

Phase 1: Al DhafraSat 28 Nov to Wed 2 Dec 2026Al Mugheirah Bay, Al Dhafra Region
Phase 1: Al AinSat 28 Nov to Wed 2 Dec 2026Al Jahili Park, Al Ain
Phase 2: Abu Dhabi cityWed 9 Dec 2026 to Sun 3 Jan 2027Abu Dhabi Corniche

The Corniche phase has three new zones. Melting Aurora is for young children, and Beyond the Sky is for teens. The Golden Hour is for everyone, with food, shows and shopping. Gulf News also confirms these dates. However, neither report gives ticket prices or opening hours yet, so check the official MOTN channels before you book.

Does one UAE visa cover Al Ain, Al Dhafra and the Corniche?

Yes. A UAE tourist visa is valid across all seven emirates. Also, all three venues are in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. You can land in Dubai or at Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport. Either way, the same visa applies.

There is one trap we warn families about. Al Ain sits right on the border with Oman. Some visitors plan a quick day trip across, because it looks close on the map. But leaving the UAE uses up a single-entry visa, so you cannot come back on it.

If a side trip to Oman is in your plan, choose a multiple-entry visa instead. It costs you nothing to ask us first.

Which visa length fits your phase?

The ICP visit visa conditions list stays of 30, 60 or 90 days. We help with the 30-day and 60-day tourist visas, each in single or multiple entry. Here is how they match the festival calendar.

Phase 1 only: the desert opening

Phase 1 lasts just five days. A 30-day single-entry visa is enough for most people. It also leaves time for Dubai. UAE National Day falls on Wednesday 2 December, the last day of this phase.

Phase 2 only: the Corniche weeks

The Corniche phase runs for 26 days. A 30-day visa covers it if you arrive near 9 December. Many families, however, want New Year's Eve too. In that case, check that your 30 days really reach 31 December.

Both phases, or the full run

From 28 November to 3 January is 37 days. A 30-day visa that starts on 27 November ends in late December. So it catches Phase 1 and the first two weeks of the Corniche, but not New Year. For the full run, choose a 60-day visa.

When should you apply? The 60-day entry window

This is where we see costly gaps. According to ICP, you must enter the UAE within 60 days of the visa's issue date. Your stay then starts on the day you arrive, not the day the visa is issued.

For example, a visa issued on Monday 9 November must be used to enter by about 8 January. That works for both phases. A visa issued in early September, on the other hand, would expire before the festival opens.

So the sweet spot for most MOTN trips is November. Apply early in the month for Phase 1, and by late November for the Corniche weeks. Our processing times page shows current timings, and the express visa option helps if you are late.

Also plan your exit date with care. ICP charges an overstay fine of AED 50 for each extra day. An extension is possible, but total time in the UAE cannot go over 120 days.

What does our team check before a festival trip?

Every file is different, but three papers cause most of the delays we fix. ICP lists them among its visit visa conditions.

  1. A passport valid for at least six months, for every family member, including babies.
  2. A return ticket whose date matches the visa length you chose.
  3. Valid health insurance for the UAE, which many families forget to buy before they fly.

Then we compare the name on the ticket with the passport, letter by letter. A small spelling gap can hold up an application, so we catch it before it reaches the authorities. Rules differ by nationality, so see our visa requirements by nationality page too.

How do you apply with us in 4 steps?

  1. Open our online Dubai visa application and choose 30 or 60 days, single or multiple entry.
  2. Fill in your details and upload a passport copy and photo. No payment is needed to start.
  3. Our team reviews your documents, and then you pay through our secure online payment.
  4. Track your application on our visa status page, and receive your e-visa by email.

Approval is always decided by UAE authorities, not by us. Still, a clean file avoids most delays. If a visa is declined, our money-back guarantee applies. Fees vary by nationality, so see the current amounts on our visa fees page.

MOTN Festival visa questions

Do I need a separate visa for Abu Dhabi?

No. A UAE tourist visa covers Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, as well as Dubai. You can also enter through any UAE airport.

Can I visit Oman from Al Ain on my UAE visa?

Only with care. Leaving the UAE ends a single-entry visa, so a multiple-entry visa is the safer choice. Oman has its own entry rules too, so check them separately.

Is a 30-day visa enough for the MOTN Festival?

It is enough for one phase. For both phases plus New Year's Eve, a 60-day visa fits better, because the run lasts 37 days.

Can children come on my visa?

No, each child needs their own visa and passport. We can apply for the whole family together, so every file is reviewed at the same time.

Plan your festival dates, then apply

Pick your phase first, then match the visa length and apply inside the 60-day window. As of 31 October 2026, ICP's latest news shows no new change to tourist visa rules. Questions?
